Donations and Other Ways to Give

Since 1894, the Woman’s Club of Palo Alto has enacted positive change in the community. Built in 1916, the clubhouse gave the club and the community a place to gather. Today this building, a heritage landmark, deserves our support so that it can welcome its members and the community for the next 100 years.

Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account, for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity (e.g., Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard, Schwab or others) you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth and you can recommend grants to virtually any IRS-qualified public charity.  When you give, you want your charitable donations to be as effective as possible.

Donor-advised funds are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the United States because they are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to give to charity.

Let’s take an in-depth look at how a donor-advised fund works:

  1. Make a tax-deductible donation: donate to your preferred charitable fund; the full donation will be recognized in the tax year in which you donated to the fund.

  2. Grow your donation, tax-free: Your donated fund is available for you to make grants from over time.

  3. Support charities you love over time: If you love the Woman's Club of PA, you can look it up in your preferred DAF account registry and make a donation today! (Woman's Club of PA is a registered 501 c 3 under the CA Federation of Women's Clubs,Tax ID 94-6090501)
